Here are a few things to note when getting a pup:
1) It is highly advised that both parents are available for viewing
- being able to interact with the pups' parents would give you a good idea of the pups' general health, temperament and its characteristics.
2) Make sure the pup gets to stay with its parents until AT LEAST 6-7 weeks (preferably longer)
- drinking its mummy's milk (as nature intended) ensures that the pup grows up stronger and healthier, with less immune problem.
3) Low price does NOT mean its a good deal!
- especially low prices may seem attractive at the first go, but it is highly dubious and care has to be exercised when buying with dealers selling at incredibly low prices.
- ask yourself, "what's the reason for the low price?" It's not uncommon for breeders to do mass breeding irresponsibly in Singapore for profit, with no regards to health and well-being of the dogs
4) Understand the puppy's lineage
- puppies that have unclear bloodlines and lineage are a NO NO! do not support the buying of in-bred dogs, or dogs with signs of serious aggression or illnesses!
5) Never buy from breeders who do not have any idea about the breeds they carry
- breeders MUST have ample knowledge of the dogs they own, so as to help new owners who are going to welcome their new family members. "these are good breeds", "okay one la", "they are not really active" should not be accepted!
